KIDS & TEEN ACTIVITY CAMPS
Are you under 16 and want to get stuck into some great outdoors activities for your school term breaks or summer holidays? Are you a parent of a young person who is looking for a bit of adventure and lots of fun on their holidays?
TurfnSurf Kids & Teen Camps are a great way to spend a week off from school or during your summer holidays.
We have a choice of 4 activities; Surfing, Stand-up Paddle-boarding (SUP), Kayaking and Blokarting (land sailing). We also include beach games, water games and safety talks. All activities are run by fully qualified instructors who aim to create a fun but safe environment for all.
Can anyone take part in the activity camps?
Yes! (if you are over 8 years and under 16 years old) Most young persons can do our camps. All you need is to enjoy the great outdoors and be relatively comfortable in water. If a young person has a special need we can cater for this and assign an instructor to them specifically.
Our surf lessons are all done by trained instructors, with beach lifeguard qualifications and lessons take place in a safe environment. Our instructors’ aim is to tailor the lesson to the participants’ abilities, keep you safe and make sure you have fun. All our instructors have completed child protection qualifications.
Where do surf lessons take place?
Activities take place on various beaches in the local area including; Tullan Strand, Bundoran Main Beach, Rossnowlagh, Streedagh and Mullaghmore. Where lessons take place depends on the local weather and swell conditions. We provide transport to and from the beaches in our 4X4 Land Rovers.
How long do the activities last?
The camp will run from Monday to Friday inclusively. Each day the camp will start at TurfnSurf Lodge in Bundoran town centre at 9:30am sharp. Participants will be returned to the Lodge at 12:30pm that afternoon.
What does the young person need to bring?
All equipment for the activities is provided and tailored to the weather conditions – surfboards (soft boards for beginners), wetsuits, gloves, boots and hoods. All you need to bring is a towel and a swimsuit. For Blokarting wear a pair of trainers, tracksuit bottoms and a warm coat and hoodie.

Our qualifications
TurfnSurf is an Irish Surfing Association (ISA) accredited surf school and is also accredited with the British Land Sailing Association (BLSA). All our instructors are also qualified under the ISA and/or BLSA and are experienced in the water holding beach lifeguards qualifications. We pride ourselves in providing the highest standard surf lessons; choosing the safest locations for all lessons.
What about the weather?
All of our activities are weather dependant. However, if one cannot be done we usually have the option of another one. However, there are times when we cannot go surfing.
Lessons may be cancelled if conditions are considered dangerous by our instructors and/or Killian. We will make this decision on the morning of each activity.
We endeavour to always provide the activity but we may cancel because of weather conditions. This is for your safety and to ensure you enjoy your activity.
